BlueHost has some great domain privacy features. It’s a shame I did not not take Bluehost web hosting up on its offer to make my domain name private. You see, one of my high traffic domains I had registered through Bluehost recently got stolen and registered through a different web hosting company! Fortunately I got my domain back, but not without losing a few nights sleep.
BlueHost Domain Privacy Features
What exactly is Domain privacy? It’s basically where the Bluehost domain owner is given the ability to hide personal registrant and administrative info from outsiders when they check the “whois’ on the domain. If I had only taken advantage of this FREE Bluehost feature I may not haver gotten my domain swiped. oh well…live and learn.
Overall, Domain privacy and changing your email passwords frequently are the best ways to protect your site and domain from the unscrupulous.

Amazingly BlueHost web hosting now host over 400,000 domains. Just several days ago I purchased another domain from BlueHost for just $10 dollars. A great feature of Bluehost is that they offer domain privacy, and that’s exactly what I took advantage of with my new Bluehost domain. Why would you want a private domain? It gives you protection from hackers and thieves by blocking outsiders from tracing your personal info through an online

Yes, it’s true. Bluehost web hosting offers unlimited domains for those signing up to a Bluehost shared hosting package of 1 year or more. What does Bluehost mean by this? Simply that you can add on new domains, not just Bluehost subdomains, (ex: YourName.com, MyName.com) for as much as your Bluehost shared web space will allow. Oh yeah, and did I mention that Bluehost will will also throw in one FREE domain forever on their 12 month and above contracts? considering that doamin names come pretty cheap (Bluehost charges $10 per domain registration) it may not seem like any big deal, but hey, every little bit helps.
BlueHost Domain Manager
You can save a dollar or two somewhere else on a domain price (like GoDaddy), but you need to be careful where you purchase a domain. Why? Because some web hosting providers, once you register a domain with them, will not let you migrate to another server. Fortunately, I never had that problem with Bluehost. For example, when one of my sites outgrew shared hosting I had to switch to a virtual private server. Not only did Bluehost give me no problems, the Bluehost staff actually helped me point my site to the new server. Was that nice, or what?
How to Add More BlueHost Domains
Adding another domain to your existing Bluehost account is a snap. Just login to your Control Panel do the following:
- Domain Manager > Enter a Domain you desire, click register. Oh, boy, wasn’t that hard?
Once your Bluehost domain is registered, there will be a folder created in the “public_html” directory. It is here that you can start uploading files for your new Bluehost site. By the way, if you need help uploading your site, whether you’re using FTP or Fantastico scripts, the Bluehost support team is more than helpful.
