HostGator has several webmail features for all of its, affordable, shared hosting packages. Since HostGator employs cPanel for its control panel, there are several web based email options.
Once you login to the HostGator cPanel simply click on the “webmail” icon. Now you have several webmail options to choose from: Horde Mail or Squirrel Mail. between you and me both work pretty much with Hostgator.
HostGator Webmail Advantage
The major advantage of using webmail through a web hosting provider like HostGator is that you can access your email anywhere in the world through an internet browser, as opposed to email delivery systems like OutLook Express. In order to access your mail:
- Enter the folowing URL: YourDomain/Webmail/.
- A sign on screen to your Hostgator webmail account will come on prompting you to enter your username and password. (Note: You can set your username and password through the HostGator control panel by clicking on the ‘mail” icon)
- Click on the email option you chose (ex: Squirrelmail)
- The next screen that comes up will be your INBOX, where you can read your mail or compose a letter.
